APC leaders in Etsako West constituency One have resolutely thrown their support behind the candidacy of Mallam Abdulrazaq Aliu, decisively paving the way for him to contest the Etsako West Constituency 1 assembly seat in the upcoming election.
This bold decision effectively shuts down any prospects for an automatic second-term ticket for the incumbent, Hon Lecky Mustafa.
Following a crucial meeting of key APC figures in Auchi, Etsako West local government, the leaders reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to inclusive politics and the principles of internal democracy.
Prominent attendees included Hon Yakubu Oshiorenua, the state commissioner, and Hon Duru Yusuf, a leader in the party.
The leaders categorically rejected any notion of an “automatic ticket” leading up to the 2027 state assembly elections, while staunchly supporting Mallam Abdulrazaq Aliu’s constitutional right to vie for the Etsako West Constituency 1 assembly seat.
They also made it abundantly clear that “no position is reserved for one person.”
In addition, they expressed their firm determination to resist any attempts to restrict the democratic space within the local government.
The message was clear: the APC is the party to beat, and they urged all members to remain committed, loyal, and united.
In commending Prince Abdulrazaq Aliu for his exemplary national service, the leaders hailed him as a “patriotic son of the land.”
In response, Prince Abdulrazaq Aliu expressed gratitude to the leaders and party members for their unwavering support of his mission to transform Constituency 1, emphasising that his primary motivation is “serving the people.”
