Nigerian journalist and TV host, Rufai Oseni has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is demanding for $1million before they would allow the governorship candidate of the party in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to be interviewed on Arise TV.

Rufai Oseni made the allegation on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.

The demand was made public through a statement titled “APC New Media Campaign Council Responds to Rufai Oseni and Arise TV’s Misleading Narrative,” signed by a certain Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah, as Director of the APC New Media Directorate.

He said instead to giving $1 million to the party to interview their governorship candidate, he would rather use the money for other charitable ventures that would benefit the people.

His words: “APC wants us to give them 1m dollars to interview their governorship candidate in Edo. I will rather use the one million dollars to build class room blocks, primary healthcare centers, soft loans for entrepreneurs, free healthcare screening for poor people, fertilizer donations to farmers and many more. If I get the one million dollars that’s what I will do rather than give it to anyone to come for interviews!”
