Chief Braimah Oshiomah Yakubu, popularly known as De-General, ADC candidate for the House of Representatives, Etsako Federal Constituency, has again urged all eligible sons and daughters of Etsako to take advantage of the ongoing INEC voter registration exercise to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards.
In a personally signed statement, the candidate said: “If we truly desire better representation and a greater Etsako, then we must be ready to play our part. It is not enough to hope for change — we must actively participate in making it happen.”
He urged constituents to visit the nearest office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to register.
“Register now, collect your voter’s card, and exercise your constitutional right. This is how we assert our power in governance — the power to choose who leads us,” he said.
According to De-General, “When a non-performing government is voted out, the next leadership is compelled to perform better, knowing that accountability awaits them.”
He stressed that it is the responsibility of every eligible voter to turn out on election day. “Failure to do so indirectly enables poor governance and weakens our collective voice,” he added.
“Do not be discouraged by doubts that your vote will not count. Every vote matters. Cast your vote and stand firm to ensure it counts. A united and determined people can move mountains.”
According to the INEC timetable, the final phase of voter registration runs from now until July 10th.
He also called on all party leaders at every level to mobilize grassroots support and ensure the message reaches everyone, especially those with limited access to information.
