The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has presented Certificates of Return to the party’s House of Assembly candidates at the state levels across the nation.
Earlier, the National Leadership of the party presented Certificates of Return to the Presidential and National Assembly candidates at the National Secretariat in Abuja, and directed state chapters to do the same for House of Assembly candidates.
In Edo State, the presentation took place at the party secretariat in Benin, with the State Organising Secretary, Hon. Moses Izobo and other principal officers presiding.
Presenting the certificate, Hon. Izobo said, “The party is fielding credible candidates who understand the needs of their people. We are confident that you will fly the PDP flag with pride and deliver victory for the party in 2027.”
Among those who received Certificates of Return was House of Assembaly candidate for Owan West Constituency, Barr. Frank Dix Unuigboje.
An elated Unuigboje, after receiving his certificate, expressed appreciation to the party leadership, especially the National Leader, Nyesom Wike, and the National Deputy Chairman, South-South, Chief Dan Osi Orbih, for their years of leadership and for providing the platform to contest.
He expressed confidence in victory at the polls by God’s grace and with the support of the people of Owan West
According to him, Owan West residents are seeking a change and better qualitative representation at the hallowed chamber, which the incumbent has not provided.
He promised not to take the trust and confidence of the party and his people for granted.
The House of Assembly election, according to INEC’s timetable, is scheduled for February 2027.
