Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has nominated Terry Igiebor as the new head of the Edo State Ecological Funding and Management Commission, replacing Blessing Agbomere.
The nomination was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor.
Agbomere, from the Etsako axis of Edo North, resigned from the position to contest the House of Representatives seat for Etsako Federal Constituency.
He later stepped down from the race in line with Governor Okpebholo’s appeal to allow first-term incumbent, Hon. Anamero Sunday, a second term.
According to the state government, Igiebor’s nomination is aimed at strengthening environmental management and grassroots development across the state.
Igiebor, described as a distinguished businessman and grassroots politician, is widely recognized for his commitment to community development and grassroots empowerment.
He previously served as a member of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, where he promoted accountability, transparency, and good governance.
His nomination will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and confirmation, in line with statutory requirements.
