‎ADC Elects New Edo Exco as Sumaina, Ojekere Emerge Secretary, Publicity Scribe

‎The Coalition African Democratic Congress, ADC, has concluded its Edo State congress with Jafaru Sumaina and Chris Ojekere of Edo North emerging as State Secretary and State Publicity Secretary, respectively.


‎The exercise, held on April 11, 2026, produced Pius Alile from Edo South as State Chairman was said to have been conducted in line with the directives and timetable of the party’s national headquarters.


‎Party Congress Committee Chairman, Senator Uchendu, announced the results of the week-long congresses that ran from ward to LGA and finally to state level.

‎He said the ADC in Edo adopted the consensus mode and commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise.


‎Sumaina, an accountant from South Ibie in Etsako West LGA, is described as an open-minded politician whose emergence is expected to boost the ADC’s standing in the Etsako zone.

‎Ojekere, from Owan West LGA, is a veteran in publicity and strategic communication.


‎Other officers announced include Hon. Sylvester Ewaheni as State Deputy Chairman. The full list of the state executive is expected to be published.


‎Edo North is shaping up as a key battleground for party control, with Jarret Tenebe chairing the ruling APC in the state and Henry Tenebe leading the PDP in the district.
