‎Former Etsako Central Local Government chairman, Hon Emmanuel Momoh has declared interest in contesting the Etsako Central constituency seat in the Edo State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections.

‎Momoh, a staunch APC loyalist who played a key role in delivering both Adams Oshiomhole and Monday Okpebholo as governors, told Borderlinenews that a seat in the Assembly would allow him to drive development directly for his constituency.

‎The seat is presently held by APC’s Ahmed Waziri Oshomah from the Ekperi axis of the local government.

‎Reacting to zoning arrangement in the local government, Momoh said zoning was a  PDP arrangement,” arguing that what is prevailing in the local government at the moment is balancing of power among the various blocs in the local government.

‎He further said that Ward 8 of the local government where the incumbent lawmaker hails from has monopolised the House of Assembly seat for 12 years between former lawmaker, Lawani Dania and oshiomah who is on second term ticket  and that balancing of interests across blocs is overdue.

‎He again said that, the same ward 8 has the chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service and chairman of the Judicial Service Commission amongst others.

‎Momoh opined that even though the incumbent was not sworn in during his first term, the party granted him full privileges accrued  to a lawmaker.

‎Similarly, he was accorded   a right of first refusal for the APC ticket in 2023 to the State of House Assembly seat.

‎He  also alleged that the Okpebholo administration in its magnanimity also paid him all his entitlements.
