‎Owan Complaint Sparks Threat to Dissolve AAU Governing Council

‎The Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma Governing Council faces possible dissolution by Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo following a complaint by Owan people, alleging lopsided membership.


‎Led by Hon. Ofen-Imu, Owan Conscience delegation met Okpebholo, citing marginalization in appointments among Edo North’s Etsako, Owan, and Akoko-Edo clans.


‎They specifically objected to Etsako occupying all three Edo North slots on AAU’s council .


‎Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo reconstituted the 7-member Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma on February 4, 2025, with Chief Dan Osikhene Orbih as chairman.


‎The council members include Prof. Friday Okonofua, Prof. Steve Amiemenkharu Iyayi, Hon. Lukman Muhammad, Prof. Idialu Jeremiah Uwaifo, Prof. Eric Kelly Inanemo Omogbai, and Prof. Omoruyi Ikponmwonsa Osahon


‎The 3 Etsakos  on the council board are Chief Dan Orbih,Chairman, Hon Lukman  Mohammed and Prof Eric k omogbai.


‎Governor Okpebholo reportedly promised to  address the Owan group’s complaint  about the  composition and asked them to submit two nominees for possible replacement.


‎They also complaint of not having any owan  In the re-constituted Local Government Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission, and Civil Service Commission
