FRSC’s Refreshing Gesture: Sector Commander Treats Travellers to Branded Water
As part of festive special operation and ensuring safety on the road, the Edo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corp has distributed the Corp’s branded bottle water to motorists and passengers on the road during the festive period.
The Command also sensitized motorists and other road users on the need to obey traffic rules and regulations and be disciplined on the road to arrive their destinations safely.
The sensitization was carried out on December 31,2025, while branded water distribution was carried out on January 1,2026 in Edo State.
The State Sector Commander, Cyril Zango Mathew, who led a team of officers of the Command on the exercise, said the gesture was in compliance with the directive of the FRSC’s Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed.
He said the twin exercise carried out on the Benin-Agbor Road bypass was to ease travel stress on passengers and motorists and to ensure free flow of traffic and discipline on the road during the journey.
He advised motorists and other road users to adhere strictly to the traffic rules and regulations, avoid over speeding, recklessness, drunk driving and overloading, to enable them arrive their destinations safely.
He said the traffic control by men and officers of the Command was to ensure continuous free flow of traffic, considering the on going road construction along the route,
Mr Cyril who distributed flyers during the exercise, charged passengers not to keep quiet when their drivers engaged in reckless and dangerous driving, as their safety on the road depended on their drivers.
During the exercise, motorists and other road users expressed appreciation to the Edo Command of the FRSC for the smooth movement of vehicles and hitch free road.
He however Commended the Corp Marshall for the provision of the branded water, which he said boost the Corp’s Image across the country.
Meanwhile, the Sector Commander also visited the FRSC RTC Clinic at Oluku axis of the Benin-Lagos highway in order to ensure prompt response and attention to accident victims in case of unavoidable crashes during the yuletide.
Mr. Mathew who commended members of staff of the clinic for their readiness, said the visit was to ascertain their level of preparedness.
Responding, the Clinic’s Matron, SRC WN Iweanya, assured the Sector Commander that they are fully prepared to manage any emergency.
