Edo South Senators, led by Senator Neda Imasuen, have united across party lines to support Barrister Henry Idahagbon’s reconfirmation as Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) Commissioner, despite Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s opposition.
Oshiomhole had blocked Idahagbon’s renomination, citing alleged misconduct during his previous tenure, while Idahagbon claims Oshiomhole’s actions are politically motivated, stemming from disagreements over the 2024 Edo State governorship election .
The concerned Senators are: Senator Roland Owie, Senator Daisy Danjuma,Senator Ehigie Uzamere and Senator Matthew Urhoghide.
The senators’ support for Idahagbon reflects Edo South’s unity in defending its own against perceived marginalization. Senator Imasuen’s leadership in this matter highlights his commitment to protecting the district’s interests .
A former Edo South Senator, Ehigie Uzamere, said the confirmation marked a significant victory for justice, unity, and the Benin people.

Uzamere said that the confirmation of Barrister Idahagbon was a triumph of merit and fairness, and a reflection of the Senate’s commitment to upholding justice and due process.
Senator Ned Imasuen’s intervention reportedly played a crucial role in correcting an earlier erroneous impression and ensuring that the confirmation process was fair and transparent.
