Edo State’s Director-General of Fire Service, Hon Tony Ojo, has pledged to establish a fire station in Auchi by January 2026.
This promise follows a recent petrol tanker fire incident in Auchi, where 25 people were injured but no fatalities were recorded.
The DG assured that the Edo State Fire Service remains committed to protecting lives and property .
“It is unfortunate that Auchi did not have a fire station when this incident occurred. I pledge to construct a fire station at Auchi, the headquarters of Estako West Local Government Area Council, by January to avert any recurrence.”
The Fire Service DG, Hon Ojo, made the pledge. In a press release where he also reaffirmed commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
