Ummah’s Role in Governance: Muslims Converge in Benin for Summit

Muslims across the country recently gathered in Benin, Edo state capital for a 2-day summit focusing on promoting good governance and the role of the Muslim Ummah.
The event, organised by Amana Legacy Foundation (ALEF)which , brought together participants across the country took place at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub.
The two-day summit was chaired by Ogiegah of the Three Ibies clan in Etsako East LGA, Ali Sulayman, and Chairman, Board of Trustees of ALEF, Abdurrahman Isa Alufah, who welcomed participants to the gathering.
The summit features prominent speakers, including Prof. Abdurazaq Kilani, who discusses Islamic strategies for inclusivity in governance, and a lecture on social justice, presented on behalf of JAMB’s Prof. Ishaq Oloyede. Edo State officials, including Secretary Musa Ikhilor and Chief of Staff Gani Audu, also share insights on the role of the Muslim Ummah in promoting good governance.
Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, addressed the summit on its central theme while a member of the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Luqman Mohammed, speaks on trusteeship and self-evaluation as pillars of effective Muslim leadership, drawing lessons from the righteous caliphs.
Highlights of the day was the empowerment of Business owners with tools and support to enhance growth and success while students of ALEF Academy thrill attendees with a choreographic display.
Also, winners of an Essay competition sponsored by Ustadh Saleem Abdus-Salaam were presented with prizes.
