Late Edo Speaker’s Daughter , Hamidah Garuba Marries in Benin

Hamidah Garuba, daughter of the late former Edo State Speaker, Zakawanu Garuba, recently tied the knot with her partner, Ahmad Isiaka, in a ceremony held in Benin, the Edo State capital.
The occasion was marked by a mix of joy and emotion as guests remembered the late former Speaker, Zakawanu Garuba, and it was a roll call of the political class, friends, and family members of the Garubas.
The wedding which was a grand affair was attended by dignitaries, including Chief Mike Oghiadomhe, the Edo former Deputy Governor and former Chief of Staff to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Chief Oghiadomhe who chaired the wedding, spoke fondly of the late Zakawanu Garuba, attributing his presence and other political associates at the wedding to the good neighborliness they had with the former Speaker.
He urged the bride to emulate his father’s example and be good a neighbor .
The wedding was a testament to the strong bonds between the Garuba family and their friends and associates
The wedding of Hamidah Garuba was also a beautiful blend of two cultures – Auchi in Edo State, where the bride hails from, and Yoruba from Lagos State, where the groom, Ahmad Isiaka, comes from.
The couple’s union was celebrated with a minute’s silence observed in honor of the late Edo Speaker.
Hamidah, a pharmacist, and Ahmad, an engineer, exchanged vows with a toast by Barr Haliru Garuba .
