‎Dan Orbir: Second Edo North  to Chair AAU Governing Council

‎Chief Dan Osi Orbih’s appointment as the chairman of the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, contrary to the misinformation in the public domain, he is not the first Edo North indigene to be so appointed.


‎Chief Orbih is the second indigene of the Edo North to hold this position.


‎The Edo State Governor, Sen Monday Okpebholo recently reconstituted the Governing Council of the AAU, one of the very first state-owned tertiary institutions in the country



‎The reconstitution of the Council, according to close government sources was meant to revamp and enhance the capacity of the AAU to deliver on its mandate as envisioned by its founders



‎The seven-member Council comprises eminent Edo citizens who can steer the ship of the installation towards attaining full potentialities as a functional state-owned university.





‎Chief Orbih hails from Etsako central LGA.



‎Historically, the first Edo North indigene to serve as the chairman of the AAU Governing Council was  Ambassador Azeez Garuba.




‎. Ambassador Garuba, from Auchi, Etsako West, was a retired federal permanent secretary.


‎He was also one of the leading gubernatorial aspirants for the position of governor of Edo State on the PDP platform in 1999.



‎ A former Edo State governor, Prof Osarieme Osunbor appointed  Ambassador Garuba as the chairman of the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University.
