NDDC flag off construction of Ibillo- Imoga road, Akoko Edo

The Federal Government has awarded contract for the construction of a 15km road from Ibillo- to Imoga in Akoko Edo local government area of the state.

The road contract is being handled by the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC,

The construction project is expected to commence from Ibillo community and will terminate at the end of Imoga community, a representative of the construction firm disclosed.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony the member representing Akoko Edo federal constituency,Rt. Hon. Peter Akpatason said, “today is the day we want to talk about infrastructure for our people and not to discuss who is contesting election. I want to appeal that we keep politics aside and work together to develop our land.

“Today, we have come to flag off Ibillo- Imoga road. This project is a federal government project. This project is an NDDC project.

Also speaking is the representative of the Chairman of the construction firm, Webster Global Ventures Limited, Mr. James Ukwaku said

“I understand this road has not been done for many years, infact, the people said they are looking forward to when they will ply this road with their vehicles and bikes.

“This company is known for integrity, speed and accuracy. Our team are already on ground and they are very well motivated and so, we want to promise you that in no time, this job will be delivered.

“This contract has been awarded from here to the end of the community. We noticed that the people here are very friendly and hospitable and we hope they will keep supporting us

The Daudu of Imoga, Sir Patrick Abudu who represented Oba J. C. Oni, the Okpahi of Imoga said, “we are very happy over this road construction. The most important thing for Imoga people is that this road be constructed.
