The deputy majority leader of the House of representatives, Hon Peter Akpatason recently got a provisional clearance from the independence electoral commission to fly his party,APC , house of reps ticket for the 2023 National Assembly elections .
Hon Akpatason got provisional pending the final outcome of a court case instituted by Mr Johnson Afegason who is also laying claim to the party ticket.
Mr Afagase had filled a suit at a federal High court sitting in Benin challenging the outcome of the factional party primaries which produced Hon Akpatason as the party candidate.
In a related development, the election umpire, INEC also displayed the names of 5, others from different political parties cleared to contest for the House of representatives race, Akoko Edo federal constituency.
They are Hon. John Shaba.of African Action Congress, (AAC),Sunday Rotimi, African Democratic congress, (ADC),
Omobayo Marvelous Godwin , Labour party, (LP) Olorunfemi John Ettanami, New Nigerian people’s party, (NNPP)
Emmanuel Agbaje Dada Danladi, people’s Democratic party, (PDP) and
Ofeosi Eddy of SPD.
