Edo North Produces Chairman, Director of Reconstituted Benin Owena River Basin

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the Executive Management Team (EMT) for the river basin authorities across the country.
There are currently 12 river basin authorities under the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.
In a press statement signed by Mr Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, dated Wednesday, December 18, it was noted that the President is committed to ensuring that the river basin authorities contribute significantly to the overall economic transformation of the nation.
Hon. Mike Ohio-Ezomo, representing the Owan West council area of the Edo North district, was appointed as the chairman of Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORDA) EMT .
He will be joined by five other Executive Directors from Ondo, Ekiti, and Delta States.
BORDA serves the three adjoining states of Edo, Ekiti Ondo and Delta North.
Hon. Ohio-Ezomo has previously served as a member of the Edo State House of Assembly and representing Owan west constituency .
Additionally, Hon. Johnson Oghuma, who is also a member of the BORDA EMT, will serve as the Executive Director of Agricultural Services.
Hon Oghuma served as a lawmaker at the Edo state House of Assembly and later at the House of representatives.
The other members include Dr. Austin Nonyelum Izagbo, Executive Director of Planning and Design from Delta; Mr. Adegboyega Bamisile, Executive Director of Finance from Ekiti; and Mr Bayode Akinduro, Executive Director of Engineering from Ondo.
President Tinubu also charged the EMTs to leverage their wealth of experience to enhance the efficiency of their respective organizations, in line with his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of citizens.
Meanwhile, the tenure of Engr. Ahmed Saliu, the Managing Director of BORDA, will end in January 2025.
Engr. Saliu has worked diligently to reposition BORDA and ensure its impact was felt both within and beyond its catchment area.
Mr. Femi Adekanbi from Ondo State is to replace Engr. Saliu.
