IPAC chair
The 2024 Governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party,Dr. Bishop Akhalamhen, has emerged chairman Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Edo State chapter.
Speaking shortly after he was sworn-in as IPAC Chairman, Akhalamhen pledged to deepen participatory democracy in the State.
He described his emergence as a new dawn for IPAC in the State.
He noted that IPAC is the conscience of democracy in Nigeria due to its role in promoting peace before, during and after election.
IPAC will add it voices to promote peaceful and credible elections in Edo State by uniting the various political parties in the state.
According to him, going forward with IPAC elections that would be conducted in Edo, would be peaceful as the state will now serves as a model to other states.
“IPAC will ensure that the people of Edo State understand the value and what IPAC stands for. If IPAC is peaceful, All elections would be peaceful That is why I tagged IPAC the conscience of democracy, he said.
Akhalamhe called on other IPAC members to support the EXCO ao that the can achieve its laudable objectives and move the council forward.
Earlier, the Electoral Chairman, IPAC, Lucky Akomire, who supervised the election, chaired the new chairman to foster unity and instil internal conflict for a united and strong IPAC presence in the State.
Akomire described the election as peaceful and called on other elected members to work together with the chairman to make their impact felt in the State.
